Christmas sharing

I was asked to share about Christmas during sunday school last week. I gave that sharing a miss, as the time was tight then. Nevertheless, since Christmas is about giving, I shall share the content with you all out there.

施比受更有福(It is more blessed to give than to receive)

In certain cases, there is this higher level of satisfaction when you give something to others. With Christ in our hearts , knowing that your actions and work is of help to your friends, would definitely make you happier.

It is interesting to note that “施比受更有福”appeared in the bible (Acts 20:35)
Paul strongly believed in Jesus who himself said ‘it is more blessed to give
than to receive
’. That is probably one of the reasons why he faithfully spread
the gospel (大喜的信息,关乎万民的信息) from house to house while he was on Earth.

记念耶稣的降生

Why did Jesus come to Earth?

The answer is found in John 3:17.
'For God did not send his Son(Jesus) into the world to condem the world, but save the world through him.' Jesus is the way, the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through him. 人因有罪而与神隔绝. 因此, 神差祂儿子,为我们的罪死在十架上, 成为神与人中间的桥梁, 沟通了两者之间的深渊. Are you comforted by this truth?

生命的意义

Since God gave his one and only son to us and created us, one should really contemplate on the purpose of life. From Rick Warren's Purpose Driven Life, we know that 'focusing on ourselves will never reveal our life’s purpose for it is God who directs the lives of his creatures; everyone’s life is in his power.

It also states that 'it’s in Christ that we find out who we are and what we are living for. Long before we first heard of Christ, … he had his eye on us, had designs on us for glorious living, part of the overall purpose he is working out in everything and everyone.'
Hence, focus on God and you shall comprehend the purpose of life.

I will end this post with a verse. Do contemplate on it.
' So we fix our eyes not on what is seen but what is unseen. For what is seen is
temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.' 2 Corinthians 4:18

Have a blessed CHRISTmas.
