THE week

I spent this week meaningfully.
I did not regret forgoing the time to play computer games and watch SEA games, abstaining from oily food and chili for quality fellowship time with the other Dom7th members. It was worth it.

Monday (10th Dec)
It started off with an apt reminder from Yi Le that even though we are singing pieces with different styles we are still illustrating the same story, the same God. From the modified touch rugby game, I learnt about the value of teamwork. (If my group members did not pass the ball to me, I would not be able to score, right?) We also had our sweet hour of prayer and BANG!

Tuesday (11th Dec)
那一天we sang “ 那一天” and did jumping jacks at the same time. That was something I have never tried! We burst out laughing at each other’s most eye catching entrances. It felt like a local version of ‘Just for laughs’. Then the mood changed when we were asked to shared our saddest experience. I thought the fact that we were able to open up ourselves to one another made our bonds stronger as it brought our understanding of one another to a higher level. Just when my sister wanted us to enjoy singing, we were given a chance to rehearse for our 2nd service worship.

Wednesday (12th Dec) – Thursday (13th Dec)
We made curtains and touched up the props.
Our wonderful God gave us a stage managers and light operator!
We took some servings of laughter as usual.

Friday (14th Dec)
It was the first day of our performance. Adrenalin rush!
Time flew faster from 8-10pm. The simple repetitive routine (Sing, move to backstage, change, knock and ‘GO! GO! GO!’) was made complex with all the excitement in us.

Saturday(15th Dec)- Sunday(16th Dec)
Each of us got a copy of our Dom7th CD. Finally! Yay!
Our voices sounded tired but we gave all that we have got.
Commendable effort for Saturday’s performance!
Thank God for KFC supper! KFC is finger licking good! Heh…

We went home and came back to church about 8 hours later.

At the end of 2nd service, So Heng said he was touched by the music when we sang “如此一般的婴孩”. I was quite surprised when I heard that. Although we failed to spend more time to ‘perfect’ that song (Lord please forgive us), that piece was able to ‘touch’ So Heng. This reminded me that even though we were not in our best form on Saturday, God could still use our voices to touch the hearts of other people, be it Christians or Non-Christians. Truly, He works in ways we cannot see.

I would like to end this post by thanking God and Dom7th for this marvelous week.
Hope this week has been a pleasant week for you all! =)
Take care people (especially those with sore throat)!
